Nintendo both shared its Second Quarter Financial Results and Corporate Management Policy Briefing for Fiscal Year Ending March 2026 going over Switch 2 sales and game plans and released a Nintendo Store mobile app to access the eShop on Android and iOS devices. The former confirmed the Switch 2 is the focus and worldwide sales were over 10 million as of September 30, 2025. The latter lets us shop and see our Play Activity history from the Switch 2, Switch, 3DS, and Wii U.
In the case of the Switch 2 in the Second Quarter Financial Results report, Nintendo noted how sales shaped certain decisions and went over its first party game plans. It noted it is a “new standard” for the Switch, and the company will prioritize games for it. It also confirmed the milestone of passing 10 million units and said it will increase production as a result of that demand. It also noted 9 out of 10 people who own it played Mario Kart World, the launch title that could also be a pack-in with the console. The company also shared that 84% of the people who have this console came from the original Switch.
As for release windows for upcoming Switch 2 games, Nintendo shared plans that cover from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonmentto Splatoon Raiders. The report also seemed to suggest the company perhaps considers the big Animal Crossing: New Horizons update for the Switch 2 happening in January 2026 is the “game” for that month.

As for the Nintendo Store Android and iOS app, it lets you log on a mobile device to access the Switch and Switch 2 eShop. This lets you buy digital or physical games. You can also use your wishlist from there and add to it. If you go to a Nintendo event at a store, you can check into it with that. You can also see your Play Activity on the 3DS, Wii U, Switch, and Switch 2, though the older consoles only cover actions before February 2020 and require you to link your Nintendo Account and Nintendo Network ID.
The Nintendo Store Android and iOS eShop app is live now, the Switch 2 is available worldwide, and Nintendo’s next game release for that console is Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.
